Maybe you arrive at your desk at work and say to yourself, I can’t stand another day of this shit and shortly after your boss arrives and starts rattling your cage and the shit hit the fan. You then say to yourself, see what I mean, this is unbearable and you start feeling sorry for yourself, or start planning to shoot your boss or something as ridiculous as that. You created a miserable day for yourself and then you go home and transfer your misery to your family – yelling and screaming at everyone for every little thing. At the end of the day you say this has not been my day at all. I will say to you that it has been exactly your day. It’s what you created for yourself.
There are many newcomers to a country who were doctors or lawyers or accountants in another life but had to make do with surviving in a strange land with strange customs. They had to accept that people do not care what you have they may judge you by the colour of your skin or your accent, lack of the dominant language and make assumptions.
Whenever you think your life sucks there is someone worst off – you may have unearned privileges that others do not – think about that.
When we change our world changes. We usually wait for the world to change, sometimes the world at large and sometimes our own little world. Since it is not in our hands we don't find it changing according to what we want and we give up trying. We rarely think of changing ourselves which is possible. When we change, our thoughts and attitude change too. We are then able to look at the people and our world around us with a different vision. Thus we find that our world changes, not so much in the situation as much as in our own perception.
