Part II
We all have the monkey mind, thoughts pop in and pop out at will and we do not know how to stop them. Where do these thoughts come from? The thoughts come from our subconscious mind, a reservoir of programming we have received since we were born. We’ll talk more about the subconscious mind in the next blog, but suffice it to say that the subconscious mind is like our internal encyclopedia giving us possible answers and solutions to whatever is troubling us and these answers are based on our programming - what we have been taught and what we hold to be true. Thoughts that are limiting, thoughts about who you are "not good enough""not smart enough""you'll never amont to any good" etc. Someone planted these thoughts in you and you believed and live your life to conform to these beliefs. But you want to be better, you want to succeed and you want to be happy.
Our thoughts are vibrations in the universe. We are tuned into those thoughts that are at the same vibration level as we are in that moment. Remember, all of life is energy. As Deepak Chopra says we are energy and information, signals go and come but where attention goes energy flows. The thoughts we feed are the thoughts that grow. Thoughts that we do not want are repeated in our minds because we choose to give those thoughts our attention. It is our subconscious mind trying to give us solutions and fix our life according to the needs of the ego - and the information is based on programming we have received from our parents, friends, religious leaders, teacher etc. Those thoughts will eventually leave you as you occupy your mind with the thoughts that are attuned to your higher, spiritual nature. The more you transform your thoughts the more you are transformed, the less those unwanted thoughts will find a home in your mind or heart. As Swami Vivekenanda, the 19th Century Indian saint told one of devotees who asked him how to get rid of his lower energies, "In the springtime observe the blossoms on the fruit trees. The blossoms vanish of themselves as the fruit grows. So too will the lower self vanish as the divine grows within you. (Meditate on this quote).
Find a way to connect to your spiritual nature, by praying, reading books on spirituality or other positive living, meditate, connect with people who are on the same path and practice the art of loving yourself and then extend it to others and watch your own transformation. If at first it feels awkward, do not give up, fake it until you make it. You will be so happy you did.
Next blog is a discussion on the subconscious mind because it is a big part of who we think we are and it is there for some reason.
Loving you and hugging you.
