Many people are feeling a little afraid and unsure of the future these days because they expect recession to take a big bite out of their earnings, savings and overall lifestyle. They close their fists and cut off the life giving energies that flows through everything on the planet and from themselves and their fears become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I was looking at an Oprah Show the other evening and there were people lamenting the fact that they have become lower class and now shop at the Dollar Store and Zellers instead of the upscale department store.
Then there was this young film star, I cannot remember her name, who had to remove both her breasts because she has the cancer gene and one of her breasts was already cancerous. She said she phoned a friend who also was a cancer survivor and the friend told her that it was a blessing that she had cancer, that now she can remake her life all over. Once you are hit with a disease that can take you out you change the way you look at life. You become more grateful for each day, you watch what you eat, you exercise more, you make sure you develop a positive outlook and all that good stuff. There are thousands of people out in the world, living with the AIDS virus, with cancer, diabetes and look at Michael J Fox who has survived more than 10 year with Parkinson and has not allowed it to stop him from living. There is also the saying that when you get lemon you make lemon aid, meaning you have to life the life you have and not the one you want.
The point is people are depressed about the economy because they listen to the news and to negative people. If there was no news and we lived our lives doing the things we have always done we would not be so scared. The economy needs fear to grow and thrive. They tell us things are getting bad, the sky is falling and we react by spending more money on drugs to calm our nerves and these fears impact the entire economy. It is our fears that have brought us to where we are today, nothing else.
The business world will take care of itself. You take care of you. When you hear that big businesses are going bankrupt it does not mean that the rich are eating peanut butter sandwiches. It means they might have to sell one of their 10 cars, or one of their yachts or something like that. Do not react to fear, trust in the universe to take care of your needs as it has always done and it will.
Maybe you have lost your job and may have to sell your house but you still have your health and creativity. When you have your health you have everything so do not jeopardize that. Keep on living your life as if your needs are all met and they will be met. You have to have faith, you have to keep fear far away from you. The universe does not understand fear because fear is not part of its make up. Fear is something you have manufactured in yourself. If fear helped anyone I would be the first to say embrace it but it does nothing to you but bring you more grief. So get on with the business of living a happy life which you were meant to live.
