- Sample virginity certificate
A guy circulated an email showing young girls as young as 8 or even younger legs spread apart and old women are peering inside their vaginas to determine whether they were virgins and if they were found to be they were given a certificate. This is being done to fight the AIDS/HIV virus. The photos are sickening and only shows how women and girls are still treated like second class citizens and are being oppressed in the world. I was really upset on the on had that the photos were being circulated and then again if I did not see it I would not have believed that such things still exists.
Why aren't men required to prove their virginity. Women's virginity has been a bone of contention for eons. Virginity has been prized across religions and cultures, and doctors note that only a few generations back European brides also had to furnish documentary “proof” of virginity but today? This is ridiculous. Will women and girls ever get agency for themselves, will they ever be in control of their own lives and adults. It's hard to imagine that.
